Cedar Valley Youth Poet Laureate | Spring 2024 Workshop

The North American Review has launched the Cedar Valley Youth Poet Laureate program! Based on the National Youth Poet Laureate Program, local organizations are engaged to identify and celebrate exceptional young poets who use their voice to inspire change. We believe that young people are capable of creating important works of art, and deserve a venue to both develop and share these works with the world. Join us for the second in a series of free poetry workshops.

This program is free and open to teens aged 13-19 living in one of eight Iowa counties (Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Chickasaw, Fayette, Grundy, & Tama) that comprise the Cedar Valley. Meet other teens with an interest in poetry, share your writing, and work with editors of the NAR. Participants are encouraged (but this is optional) to bring a poem they would like to revise to the workshop.

This writing workshop will be held at UNI on Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 1pm-4pm. To register for the workshop, please submit the online form below. Additional details and a reminder will be emailed on Thursday, February 15.

The deadline to register is Wednesday, February 14 at 11:59pm.
