We publish all
forms of creativity.

We like stories that start quickly
and have a strong narrative.

We appreciate when an essay
moves beyond the personal to
tell us something new about
the world.

This is our thirteenth end-of-year number. We want to take a moment to thank all our contributors over the years for helping us steward this national treasure. Okay, maybe, as Marlon Brando in The Wild One put it, no, “that’s cornball style,” but we mean it sincerely. In 2015, we’ll be celebrating our 200th anniversary and are planning a festival to take place here in Cedar Falls. Details to follow. Hope to see many of our readers, contributors, and followers here. Other events will also go on, for example, a shindig at the 2015 convention of the Associated Writers and Writing Programs.

In this issue, we are celebrating Native American Heritage Month by publishing Native poets Anita Endrezze and J. P. Dancing Bear as well as reviewing books by Native writers.

We hope you enjoy our usual eclectic mix of art and literature.
