On Government and Fathers

Power is like a well-worn zoo
With the same lions as last decade
A bootleg sideshow that your mother attends
Small-towns lost in a zoo of time
A wonder of power that rewards silence
My father screams like a broken promise
Unruly thunderstorms of false beauty

T.A.N.K is a non-profit organization of ex-convicts, jesters, and doomsayers. Father time promised them a wasteland, but they made a garden. Out of the slammer and into the glamour, these poets are ready to prove the world (and their parole officers) that they are fit to set tracks to mud and bomb the poetic landscape. Bulldozing every poser along the way.
